黄果树瀑布位于镇宇布依族苗族自治县和关岭布依族苗族自治县的接壤处，距安顺40公里，距贵阳137公里。不过，大家不用担心车程劳累，因为我们有贵黄高速公路可以直达景区。大家应该都知道，黄果树瀑布是亚洲第一大瀑布，也就是中国第一大瀑布，也是世界第三大瀑布。他也许不如北美洲的尼亚加拉大瀑布和非洲的维多利亚大瀑布那么高险、宽阔，但他的神奇确是绝无仅有的，他是世界上喀斯特地貌上罕见的巨型瀑布。

关于黄果树瀑布名字的由来，有很多美丽的传说。其中有一个是这样说的:在很久很久以前，这里盛产黄果，每到丰收季节，满山遍野金黄一片，许多青年男女常常到这里谈情说爱，海誓山盟，并以黄果和瀑布作为见证，所以，瀑布就叫做黄果树瀑布了。这个呢，就是黄果树瀑布名字浪漫的由来。还有一个传说则比较朴素：说黄果树是黄桷树的谐音，因为当地土语中果和桷的发音相似，所以黄桷树就叫黄果树了。

黄果树瀑布宽101米，主瀑高67米，加上地上还有一级瀑上瀑，总高是77.8米。伟大诗人李白见到庐山瀑布时就写下了疑是银河落九天的诗句，他要是看到黄果树瀑布不知道又会写下什么生动的诗篇了。黄果树瀑布，也是国内唯一的一个可以远观，可以近看，可以仰视，可以透视的巨型瀑布。所谓远近高低各不同，无论从哪一个角度看，瀑布都是那么的多姿多彩，雄伟壮观。

各位团友，现在我们走进瀑布的肚子里了，就是传说中的齐天大圣孙悟空的住所水帘洞。

水帘洞全长146米，由六个洞窗，五个洞厅，三股洞泉，六条通道所组成。我们经过这个石径，就可以穿过水帘洞到瀑布的后面了，此时，您会感觉到巨流从头顶飞泻而下，就如徐霞客所述：捣珠崩月，飞沫反涌的景象，和如烟雾腾空，甚势雄烈的感觉。

此时此刻，我们会觉得，和神奇的大自然比来，人类显得如此的渺小。

接下来，我们将到达的是犀牛滩。犀牛滩位于瀑布的脚下，水深10—17.7米，是瀑布的跌落处。传说远古时代，这里常有犀牛出没，因此就命名为犀牛滩。从这里仰望瀑布，又是不一样的惊心动魄的感觉。

要是遇到艳阳高照的时候，滩中常升起一道彩虹，景观真是奇幻美丽无比。

当然，这一盛景的最佳观赏点就是瀑布对面的观瀑亭了，上面还有一副楹联恰如其分的描绘出了这一景致：白水如棉，不用弓弹花自散;红霞似锦，无须梭织天生成。

大家可以看到，瀑布两壁的山崖上都装有探光设备，都是五彩的激光装置。每到周末游客众多的时候，到了晚上，就会有不同颜色的光线从不同的角度射到瀑布上来。

看着若影若现的水影，听着音乐似的水声，那真是奇幻无穷。
