方言，几乎每个不同地方都存在着不同的方言。有研究者说：方言是语言的活化石，承载了一个地方从古至今的人文地理、风俗民情，保留了一个地方几乎所有的历史文化性信息，是不可恢复的历史记忆，是不能再生的文化基因。但随着普通话的普及，方言在我们身边却渐渐消失。语言的消亡速度远远超出人们的想象，有报告指出，平均每两个星期就会有一种语言消失，并且无声无息。
